You may need nursing care if you or your loved one needs regular medical attention and round the clock support in supervised environment. People often seeks nursing care if they have a long term illness or if they are recovering from an injury or a fall. They may need nursing if they recently discharged out of hospital.
People with symptoms of dementia may have problems with their memory – with remembering events or experiences they have had, recalling facts or thinking ahead of what needs to happen in the future. They may also have trouble recognising objects, performing everyday activities or understanding and using language. Dementia is now seen as a disability, not an illness and with the right environment and new techniques, it can be managed so that your loved one can continue to have a rich and meaningful life.
As the full-time carer for a family member or friend, there may be times when you need a helping hand. Respite care is temporary care offered to older people when their regular carer is unavailable or needs additional support. Whether your loved one is recovering from surgery, an illness or an accident, or if you simply need a break to refresh and recharge, a short stay in Higham House Nursing Home is possible. We can work with you to tailor the requirements of the stay – whether it’s an urgent request or a visit you would like to plan in advance.
